The "Red Zone" is the first six weeks of the Fall semester when incoming freshman females are at the highest risk for sexual assault. To raise awareness of this issue, resources available to survivors, and ways to prevent it, we are hosting a four-part series each Thursday in September. Take an in-depth look at issues surrounding assault, rape culture, and healing with Bonny Shade, the Associate Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life at UNCC. Through this program, discuss realistic strategies for addressing rape culture and examine hyper-masculinity as it appears in Greek Life.

Movie + Panel: The Hunting Ground

We will be screening The Hunting Ground, a film about sexual assault and campus response from a university in our own school system: UNC Chapel Hill. Following the showing of this film, there will be a panel discussion about sexual assault and campus resources at UNCC. The diverse panel will include individuals from The Title IX office, The Center for Wellness Promotion, Greek Life, and the campus police department.
